Volunteers

Loaves and Fishes “Soup Kitchen” is an all-volunteer (except for three part-time paid employees) organization. A Board of Directors help formulate policy and rules of the kitchen. All team members are volunteers who come in on the same day each month. Most teams consist of church members although a few teams are made up of individuals. The teams arrive at the kitchen by 8:00 AM and prepare a meal to be served between 10:30AM and Noon. After the meal volunteers clean-up the kitchen for the next day. Dedicated volunteer drivers pick-up donated products from area businesses. All foods not used by the soup Kitchen are donated to other local agencies through the Food Distribution Center.
